Chernobyl-Day: from uranium mine to nuclear waste, we are all concerned by nuclear power!

From Friday 26th to Sunday 28th of April 2013

3 days of action

to highlight the uranium road and break the nuclear chain

The Fukushima catastrophe is still ongoing, just like the Chernobyl disaster, which will enter its 27th year. To prevent other catastrophes from happening and not to be the next victims, we have to stay mobilized.

There are currently more than 400 reactors in activity in the world. But how many people do even know that a chain of dirty, pollutant and uncontrolled fuels, which is described as “virtuous cycle” by the nuclear industry, hides behind nuclear plants?

Extraction, transformation, enrichment, reactor use, reprocessing, military use; each of these steps generates considerable radioactive pollutions, leads to incessant dangerous transports, exposes the population to extreme risks and produces nuclear waste that stays radioactive and dangerous for millions of years. Beyond the myth of fuel recycling and controlled management, the nuclear industry is actually unable to manage its facilities and continuously puts us in danger of accidents. From uranium mines in Niger and Australia to the La Hague reprocessing plants, from French MOX-fuel factories to Fukushima reactors, and not forgetting nuclear dump projects all over the world, the nuclear chain is everywhere and we are all affected by its pollutions.

Together, let's prevent the nuclear industry from poisoning our lives and break the nuclear chain! From April 26th to the 28th, we will take actions everywhere in France against nuclear power and to highlight the secret road of uranium. If you are also organizing actions, we invite you to register them on the website www.chernobyl-day.org, in order to show that the nuclear chain spreads everywhere in the world… just like our resistance!
